Reduction of harmonics emission of a WECS in the electrical grid using multilevel inverters

<span lang="EN-US">Wind energy conversion system (WECS) is composed of many non-linear power electronic sub systems, which contribute significantly in harmonic emissions that a threat for the quality electrical power. Hence, better integration WECS grid and order to satisfy IEEE 519 standards, must inject with rate total harmonics distortion (THD) less than 5%. Multilevel Inverters are an emerging solution having perfect sinusoidal output voltage minimum content lower switching losses two-level inverter so only smaller filter size required. Thus, this paper we presenting improved results reduction injected current THD using three types inverters (two-levels, three-levels NPC, five-levels H-bridge cascade) comparing performances each studied inverter. All verified by Fast Fourier transform simulation MATLAB/Simulink. </span>
